Lego celebrated last year's Mario Day by revealing one of its biggest Mario sets to date - a Mario Kart set made of almost 2,000 pieces. Clearly, that has gone down a storm with fans of the world's most famous plumber, as now Luigi is about to get the giant Mario Kart set treatment, too.
Or at least those are the vibes I'm getting from the teaser Nintendo shared this morning. The video starts with a shot of last year's Mario Kart set, the Nintendo mascot staring right down the camera. It's not until a second kart sidles up alongside Mario that you realize this isn't a still image, it's a short stop motion clip teasing the next set.
We've not been given a proper look at who exactly will be joining Mario on the Lego starting grid, but you don't need to be a hardened fan to figure out who it is that's sitting alongside him. All we can see is the ear, arm, and part of the hat of whoever is sitting in their respective kart, but the shade of green is a dead giveaway that the next Mario Kart character joining this particular collection will be Luigi....
