Yakuza 3 Kiwami hasn't had the best time of it recently, at least when it comes to the game's public perception. It managed to raise eyebrows right out of the gates, thanks to some dodgy recasts, but fans eventually went on to start the #REMOVEKAGAWA movement after they discovered that one of the game's new actors — Teruyuki Kagawa — had admitted to sexual misconduct back in 2022, after a report surfaced which claimed that he had forcefully groped a hostess.
Ever since then, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios has struggled to win back the Yakuza faithful, mostly because it's refused to acknowledge the backlash in any capacity. Judging from reactions online, it has spectacularly failed.
One tweet in particular has been making the rounds (by a user called SpainYakuza) which compares an alleyway found in both the original game, and the remake's demo. The first thing you'll probably notice is the difference in color, as while the original is muted, the remake seems to have a more vibrant, colorful filter...
