Good news, racing fans: you won't have to wait long to get your hands on Forza Horizon 6. The rumors were true: the game will launch May 19th for Xbox Series X|S, with a PS5 release coming later this year.

Japan is a place that the team wanted to visit "for a very long time," developer Playground Games said during today's Developer Direct. They're aware of the expectations fans have for the game, and are looking to deliver in a big way.

Japan is the largest open world map in Forza Horizon history, featuring unparalleled verticality, seasonality, and more. The Tokyo City region, for example, is "five times larger than any city ever before."

For those unfamiliar, the Forza Horizon franchise is all about working your way up from nothing, and that gameplay loop isn't going anywhere for Forza Horizon 6. "All of Japan outside the Horizon festival is yours to explore at your own pace."
