BioWare Is Looking For A Mass Effect Production Director, Right After It Laid Off A Bunch Of People Who Probably Could've Done That

Since the early 2010s, BioWare has been haemorrhaging talent. Whether it's senior developers leaving or some of the best writers in the industry getting laid off before their game is even out, the BioWare of 2026 is very different from the BioWare of 2016.

Now, despite getting rid of pretty much everyone who made Mass Effect and Dragon Age what they are just a year ago, BioWare is hiring again. In a new job listing, we can see that BioWare is in need of a production director for Mass Effect 5 - and I'm sure there are a few former devs who could fill the role nicely.

Mass Effect 5's project director, Michael Gamble, shared the job listing on social media. It's a role that reports directly to him, so it's very high-level.

"We are looking for a Production Director with a passion for the Mass Effect universe to serve as a high-impact leader on our next Mass Effect title," the job listing reads. "You will partner closely with creative leadership, studio teams, and internal and external partners to champion the game's vision and ensure its execution at the highest quality bar."
