Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment sales have reached a major milestone since the game launched for the Switch 2 back in November, developer Koei Tecmo has revealed.

As spotted by Gematsu, a new financial document from Koei Tecmo reveals that Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment has topped a million sales, a figure it's managed to achieve in just under three months.

Age of Imprisonment is the third game in the Hyrule Warriors series, which began with the eponymous first game all the way back in 2014 (which is now twelve years ago; you're welcome). Said first outing was a Wii U title at first before receiving a 3DS port about eighteen months after its initial launch.

The Hyrule Warriors series continued with 2020's Age of Calamity, a Switch release, which also netted itself an Expansion Pass with lots of new stuff for those who decided to pick it up.

Age of Imprisonment is, like its predecessor, part of the Breath of the Wild timeline. This time around, the action takes place during Tears of the Kingdom's Imprisoning War, which saw a group of heroes attempting to seal away the Demon King Ganondorf.
