Fair Play, Geoff Keighley Is Still Standing By Highguard

Turns out, Highguard was always supposed to go into hiding after its big reveal at The Game Awards. In fact, the developers were toying with the idea of a complete shadowdrop. The only problem was that Geoff Keighley really, really liked the game and could not stop trying to hype it up while the devs were completely silent.

Now, it's out for the rest of us to play, and it's fair to say that it isn't the smash hit Geoff thought it could be. He isn't letting that bother him, though, as he's made it clear that his opinion on the game is unchanged - he is a Highguard fan.

Given that Geoff has been the primary source for Highguard marketing, many turned to him when the game launched to a less-than-stellar reception. He did pop his head up to ask what everyone thought of it, and this prompted some of the most hypobolic reviews I have seen.

"I want you to apologise to everyone for premiering this s**t," reads one reply. "It's free, and I still want a refund," says another.

Still, Geoff isn't letting it get to him. Depending on your interpretation, he's either standing tall...
