Any fandom attracts a wide array of shippers. Resident Evil even more so, because there are so many sort-of-eligible bachelors and bachelorettes who have clear chemistry with one another, but never really do anything about it.
Leon Kennedy is one such bachelor. Seemingly oblivious to the attention he attracts, he's had no shortage of options in his romantic life, but none as consistent Ada Wong. So, as we prepare to see Leon in Resident Evil Requiem, his first game appearance in years, fans are wondering if he and Ada are endgame, or if he ended up with someone else, like Claire.
While we won't know for sure until Requiem launches, game director Kōshi Nakanishi mentioned Leon and Ada's dynamic in an interview with Deadline when asked about Leon's romantic life.
"So, I know a lot of fans are interested in similar things," Nakanishi says. "We all want to know. I am also very interested in the private relationship between Leon and Ada."
Private relationship, hey? Now, the question he was asked mentioned Ada and Claire by name, but it's only Leon and Ada's "private relationship" that gets a shout-out. Make of that what you will.
