Japanese Tomodachi Life Fans Were Deprived Of Hugh Morris, Bubbles, And Monster Trucks

I never played the first Tomodachi Life, and everything I've seen of the second game is just a messed-up fever dream of Mii's having the most desultory conversations and doing the most meaningless tasks. I kind of love it.

This latest Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream Nintendo Direct introduced some all-timer characters, including Hugh Morris, who quickly found adulation online. It turns out, though, that, in what can only be seen as an attempt to confuse viewers even more, Nintendo released three different versions of the Tomodachi Life Direct, with only the US getting our beloved Hugh, and Japan missing out on clowns almost entirely.

The Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream Nintendo Direct that most of us saw, given that the US version has 1.1 million views and the UK just over 100k, contained Hugh Morris (humorous). Hugh is a clown introduced to Dr. Winters, a character who loves monster trucks. Sadly, Hugh doesn't share that love, and it makes for one of those fever-dream-esque conversations I mentioned in the intro.
