Nioh 3 isn't out for another week, but it's already close to setting a new player count record for the whole series thanks to the recently released demo.

As anyone waiting for GTA 6, Crimson Desert, and Wolverine knows, 2026 is going to be absolutely stacked with gaming releases. January might be a little quiet, but things are really going to pick up next week as we finally get some new releases. One of those is Nioh 3, which is already shaping up to be fantastic from what I played in my preview.

Team Ninja previously released an alpha demo for Nioh 3 when it was first announced, but it has just released an updated version to give players one last chance to dive into the game. Even with Nioh 3 right around the corner, the demo has made it clear that it's about to be a pretty big hit, and might cause a new peak for the series as a whole.
