Code Vein 2 Launches To "Mixed" Steam Reviews, But It's Not Just About Performance For Once

Code Vein 2 is off to a bit of a rocky start on Steam, as it's currently sitting with "Mixed" reviews that are, for once, not just about the game's performance.

When the first Code Vein game released all the way back in 2019, it was fairly divisive. While players ended up considering it a hidden gem, critics weren't all that impressed, and left it with a respectable but average 70 on Metacritic. Surprisingly, Code Vein 2 is in the exact same boat, sitting at the same score as of the time of writing.

While Code Vein eventually won over players and managed to hit a "Very Positive" review score on Steam, it looks like its sequel isn't quite living up to expectations for fans. Its reviews are markedly more mixed and, unlike a lot of other recent releases, it can't entirely be blamed on the game's performance on PC.
