Pokemon TCG can be a very expensive hobby, especially if you want to keep up to date on new sets. Even if you're not after Logan Paul grade Pikachu cards, getting every card in a set can easily cost you thousands, and that's if you manage to pull everything you want from retail-priced packs. Unfortunately, that's not always a possibility.
Thankfully, there are places that you can buy singles from, but the newest Pokemon TCG set — Ascended Heroes — is proving to be extremely expensive, even by the lofty standards that have been set by previous expansions. If you're planning to try all the set's 295 different cards as a single, then be prepared to part with close to $10,000.

If you want every common, reverse holo, and chase card, you're looking at a cost of around $9,708.58 at the time of writing, which is a sum of money so eye-watering that I shudder to imagine spending that much money on cardboard.
