Overwatch players, get ready: February 10 is shaping up to be a hero-packed day. Blizzard has confirmed today during their Spotlight that Season One will launch with five new heroes at once, making this the biggest single-season release in the game's history since launch.
That's one tank, two damage, and two support heroes all dropping simultaneously, though over 2026, a total of ten new heroes are planned. The remaining five have yet to be officially revealed.
The heroes launching next week include Domina, a defensive tank who traps and shields enemies; Emre, a mobile damage hero with life-steal and high-damage potential; Mizuki, a support healer who creates protective zones and tethers enemies; Anran, a fire-wielding damage hero with mobility and self-revive mechanics; and the long-awaited Jetpack Cat, a flying support who heals and transports allies while disrupting enemies.
Associate game director Alec Dawson told me during a trip to Blizzard HQ that dropping five heroes at once was a one-time “big moment” for Season One.
We felt there was a really good opportunity to make a giant moment with adding a bunch of characters. In the future, that doesn't mean every season...
