PlayStation Has Announced A Co-Op Horizon Game Completely Out Of The Blue

Horizon is a pretty massive series for PlayStation, with several titles varying from massive blockbusters to VR experiences. It's often used as a way to show off the tech and the power of PlayStation's consoles, and it's almost always a very impressive-looking series even at the worst of times. You'd think that a series with that much sway and backing wouldn't get a new game announced on a random Wednesday afternoon with almost zero fanfare, but here we are.

Announced earlier today via PlayStation's social media accounts, a brand-new Horizon game called Horizon Hunters Gathering has been revealed, though it's not your typical Horizon experience. For starters, it looks to be completely multiplayer, as you band together with up to three players to take down big robot dinosaurs.

In an accompanying PlayStation Blog post, it's explained that Horizon Hunters Gathering will have at least two modes at launch, those being Machine Incursion and Cauldron Descent, the former of which will have teams take on waves of enemies that are pouring out of gateways, led on by a big beastie that you'll have to take down.
