Red Dead Redemption 2's Long-Awaited Current-Gen Patch Still Coming "This Year," Insider Reports

By all accounts, Red Dead Redemption 2 is nothing short of a masterpiece. With a wonderfully-crafted narrative and a world jam-packed with mysteries and intrigue, some of which are still being discovered to this day, it's easy to see why RDR2 recently became the fourth best-selling game of all-time.

That said, if there's one complaint, it's that, on consoles, the game does not run at 60 frames per second (60fps). Ever since the advent of current-gen hardware in 2020, fans have been patiently waiting to see if RDR2 could get a current-gen patch with some enhanced visuals and 60fps.

So far, there's been dozens of rumors from credible insiders, but not any official word from Rockstar Games themselves. However, if this recent rumor is to be believed, then it looks like we'll finally get our hands on that long-awaited "current-gen" patch at some point this year.

In response to a question on social media, reliable insider NateTheHate asserted that, as far as they know, RDR2 is coming "this year."
