Following Backlash, You Can Now Access Sons of Sparta's Co-Op Mode From The Start With A Cheat Code

In case you missed it, there's a new God of War game out in the form of God of War: Sons of Sparta, a 2D Metroidvania developed by Mega Cat Studios in conjunction with Sony's Santa Monica Studio. It stars Kratos and Deimos during their formative years, and if the game's name and its protagonists had you thinking it was a co-op game, you'd be mostly correct.

Keyword: Mostly.

That's because the game is primarily a single-player adventure, and its co-op mode isn't available until AFTER you beat the main story and is actually a separate "endgame roguelike challenge mode that gives you different enemies and reward pools each time you play."

That part wasn't made clear at launch, and it wasn't until well after did things become clarified.

Now, following some backlash, in a new PlayStation Blog post, Sony has revealed that you can play "The Pit," the name of the co-op mode WITHOUT having to beat the game once, via inputting a cheat code at the start screen.
