If you forced ten Stardew Valley fans into a room and asked them who they'd most want to see as a new marriage candidate, I can't imagine any of them would ever say Clint, but yesterday, Eric 'ConcernedApe' Barone announced just that for Update 1.7.
Right before Barone pulled up the big sheet of paper with Clint and Sandy's names on it, you could see him stifle a laugh. Hell, in the patch notes, he joked, "I know you've all been dying to marry Clint... right? ...guys?? Welp..."
Clint came last in a 2016 poll about future marriage candidates, behind Shane and the Wizard.
Barone is clearly having fun with this very unpopular choice, and in fairness, there's probably more wiggle room to be creative with overhauling Clint than the more obvious picks, like the Wizard, but from one glance online, it's clear that the local blacksmith won't be all that popular with players.
