Ezio Could Return In Assassin's Creed Hexe To Teach "The Ways Of The Assassins", Claims Insider

Assassin's Creed Hexe reportedly follows newcomer Ella at the center of the 16th century German witch trials, as she finds herself embroiled in the affairs of assassins while being hunted for her supernatural powers.

What's interesting about this setting is that it could overlap with the exploits of series icon Ezio Auditore, as he was briefly active in the early 1500s, and according to Insider Gaming editor-in-chief Tom Henderson, that's exactly what Ubisoft had in mind.

Hexe could also overlap with Shadows, which referenced Ezio's fight against the Templars in Italy.

"I know that people are kind of put off by the fact that it's a witch game. That is kind of the case to a certain degree. But then Ezio comes in — or he was planned to come in — halfway through the game, and kind of teach [Ella] the ways of the assassins and all that kind of stuff, and then probably leans more into a traditional Assassin's Creed title," Henderson explained.

It's unclear if Ubisoft still intends to bring back Ezio, especially after creative director Clint Hocking stepped down from the project earlier this month. But it would certainly make sense for him to...
