Pokemon Champions Might Be Free, But It Looks Like You'll Have To Pay To Store More Than 30 Pokemon

Although the headlines focused on its Gen 10 reveal, Friday's anniversary Presents also confirmed that Pokemom Champions launches on Nintendo Switch this April, with its mobile version following later this year. The finer details regarding what players will and won't have to pay for in the free-to-play game weren't shared, and it's starting to become a little clearer why that might have been.

Champions will indeed be a free-to-play game. However, details are gradually being rolled out via reveals and leaks suggesting that, if you plan on sticking to the free version of Pokemon Champions, it doesn't look like you'll have many options. For starters, as reported by Nintendo Everything, you'll only be able to store up to 30 Pokemon unless you pay to expand that storage to 80.

It seems that additional storage will be tied to a Starter Pack, and that if you buy that pack, you will be able to store 50 extra Pokemon. If you want to store more than 80, then you'll need to spend even more again by paying for a Pokemon Champions subscription.
