However, you might be surprised when you check out the in-game timer for your total play time, as it will be much lower than what you thought. A number of players have reported that these timings seem off.
You may think you've had a number of hours in the game, but the in-game timer has reportedly been falling short of player estimations. In fact, some streamers have reported that the displayed total play time is way lesser than the length of their stream. It seems the timer pauses for certain sections, but it's unclear which ones.
Even Dusk Golem, who is a reliable source for Resident Evil news, has noticed this discrepancy, thanks to player reports and streams. "I think it's becoming glaringly obvious even if you watch streamers play RE9 that there's a lot of time being cut from Resident Evil Requiem's in-game timer," they said on X. "Seen some ridiculous cases now of a streamer playing the game for 20-ish hours & the in-game timer reports 11 & a half."
