Pokemon Pokopia is one of those games where people said words to the effect of "Oh, that looks neat" when shown it for the first time, and, after previews, trailers, and demos, that initial reaction has turned into high-level buzz. Now the reviews are in, and it seems as if Pokopia is even better than even the most optimistic Pokemon fans were expecting.
Pokopia has an unbelievable 93 on OpenCritic right now, while Metacritic puts the new Pokemon game at a 90. Those numbers are impressive all by themselves. However, when you look back through Pokemon history on Metacritic, that 90 becomes even more impressive when you realize no Pokemon game to have come before it, whether it be mainline or spinoff, has ever scored in the 90s.
That's right, as it stands, Pokopia is the highest-rated Pokemon game of all time. A handful of Pokemon games have scored 87s, including Pokemon Sun & Moon, Pokemon X, and the beloved Pokemon HeartGold & SoulSilver. Pokemon Y was the prior record holder with its score of 88. However, if Pokopia can hold on to 90, it will have beaten them all.
It even has some breathing room as it...
