Assassin's Creed Black Flag's Long-Rumored Remake Has Finally Been Confirmed By Ubisoft

Assassin's Creed Black Flag remake rumors have been swirling for quite some time now, helped along by art books, statues, and pretty much every other piece of merchandise you can think of. At this point, it was only a matter of when Ubisoft was going to actually reveal the thing, rather than if, and today, it finally lifted the lid and confirmed what we all kind of knew already.

In a new YouTube video uploaded to the developer's channel, Ubisoft head of content Jean Guesdon outlined what the future of the Assassin's Creed franchise is going to look like, dropping the bombshell that yes, the Assassin's Creed Black Flag remake is very much real, and that it's titled Assassin's Creed Black Flag: Resynced.

"Speculation around Assassin's Creed is not new, but it's worth repeating: "Nothing is true. Everything is permitted," reads the website update that accompanied the video. "Well, except in this case, some whispers have a little more wind in their sails. Keep your spyglass on the horizon."

"Ezio comes in — or he was planned to come in — halfway through the game."
