Triangle Strategy 2 Is Nowhere In Sight, But At Least This Commemorative Artwork Shows The Game Hasn't Been Forgotten

Before I joined the news crew here at TheGamer, I wrote a ton of guides. One of my fondest memories of that bygone era was my collaboration with Ryan Thompson-Bamsey for our complete coverage of Triangle Strategy, Square Enix's 2022 HD-2D isometric strategy RPG. We had so much fun on that project that we ended up reporting guide theft when somebody boldly attempted to repurpose our efforts into a paid guide on Amazon. Good times.

Do you know what's missing from our lives? Triangle Strategy 2. There's been no announcement. There's no particular reason to assume it ever happens. The game, while good, didn't quite light the sales charts aflame (although it hardly seemed to do poorly, either), and Team Asano has plenty of other things cooking—like Dragon Quest remakes, the upcoming The Adventure of Elliot, and possible (probable) continuations of its Octopath Traveler and Bravely Default franchises.

One thing that can be said, at least, is that the devs have not forgotten Triangle Strategy. The "Square Enix HD-2D Games" Twitter handle, an official subdivision of Square Enix which effectively helps to represent Team Asano, unveiled commemorative artwork by legendary artist Akihiro Takamatsu.
