Mega Man Legends Collection feels like the obvious next step now that Capcom's upcoming Mega Man Star Force Collection will cap off revisits to nearly every other game the sprawling franchise has ever launched. Certainly, Legends is the only remaining series under the overarching Mega Man moniker that still hasn't seen the treatment.
Legends, however, has always been in a somewhat precarious position. It was intended to continue with a third game; in fact, the excellent second title very much set that up. Infamously, that never materialized. Fans have yearned for the hypothetical Mega Man Legends 3 for nearly 15 years. That puts the three-game series (there's a spinoff starring antihero Tron Bonne, you see) in a sort of limbo that none of its brethren suffer from.
Might we nevertheless return to Volnutt and his friends in due course? Maybe.
