Kennedy via the phone number "leaked" in Resident Evil Requiem, others are attempting to make a quick buck off the game's massive popularity. How you might ask? By scalping Requiem's already scarce physical copies, including its Deluxe Edition and Steelbook online.
Over on eBay, there are at least 376 active listings, at the time of writing, for "Resident Evil Requiem" that are sold in the United States and are Buy it Now. An additional 49 auction style listings are also available.
The vast majority of these listings are for the game's now-sold-out Deluxe Edition, which bundles a collectible Steelbook, as well a Lenticular Card, four weapon skins, two charms, an audio pack, and letters from 1998 in-game collectible.
It's supposed to — keyword supposed — retail for $89.99, a modest price for what you get. Right now, someone is attempting to offload just the Steelbook for $74.99, while a Complete In Box (CIB) version of the game is being sold for $144, with listings as high as $249.99.
