One of the most iconic missions in Grand Theft Auto 4 is the Heat-inspired Three Leaf Clover, a bank heist that steers completely off the rails, leaving two characters dead and Niko Bellic with a hefty $250,000 in cash. According to former audio engineer Rob Carr, not only is it a favorite among fans and Rockstar alike, but it was so influential that it even inspired the three protagonist system in GTA 5.
"All three characters connect in the middle," he said in a members-only interview with reporter Reece 'Kiwi Talkz' Reilly (via Dexerto). "Retrospectively, looking back now, it's easy to see how that's the blueprint of the three-player system in GTA 5. Only when you look back at that are you like, 'Oh, yeah. It's actually really quite obvious.' That's one mission where three storylines meet in the middle."
