WWE 2K26 Just Quietly Became The Highest-Rated Wrestling Game Since The SmackDown vs. Raw Era

The latest installment in 2K's annual pro wrestling series, WWE 2K26, is here, as those with early access can start playing today. It sounds like they'll be pleased with what they find, too, as, if 2K26's review scores are anything to go by, the latest game in the series is the best WWE has had to offer in 20 years.

WWE 2K26 has an 81 on OpenCritic. That might not sound like much - especially with the incredible review scores Resident Evil Requiem and Pokemon Pokopia - but it's the highest average a WWE game has managed to hit since 2K took over development duties from THQ in 2013. In fact, it's the highest review score average any WWE game has managed to hit since SmackDown vs. Raw 2007.

An era that many WWE fans still consider to be the best in wrestling game history, the last time a WWE video game settled on an average score of 81 was SmackDown vs. Raw 2007.
