Xbox's Next-Gen Console Is Codenamed Project Helix, and It'll Play PC Games | TechRaptor

Xbox has revealed Project Helix, the codename for its next generation of console hardware, and according to new Xbox head Asha Sharma, it'll play your PC games as well.

The new hardware generation was revealed on social media with a very simple and short video that depicts Project Helix's logo, and, well, that's pretty much all we got from Xbox itself; no first look at what the hardware will look like, no game lineup, nothing else.

New Xbox CEO Asha Sharma did provide a little more info over on her social media, however, promising that Project Helix will "lead in performance" and that it will "play your Xbox and PC games". That's not much, but it's a bit of extra context, at the very least.

Sharma says she will talk more about Project Helix "with partners and studios at [her] first GDC next week", although how much of that conversation will be released to the public remains to be seen. I don't expect we'll hear much about what Project Helix actually is for quite some time.
