A week ago, we all stood in amazement as Resident Evil Requiem marched to an astounding 344,214 concurrent players on Steam, becoming the highest-played Resident Evil title on Steam and among the 10 highest-played primarily single-player titles ever on the platform.
A week later, Slay the Spire 2, the sequel to the extremely popular rougelike title, has said hold my beer. That's because, after only having released on March 5, the same date as Marathon, the indie title has become the 20th most-played title by peak concurrent players on Steam … ever.
Yes, you read that right.
With an enormous 526,793 concurrent players, all of which came a little over 10 hours ago from the time of writing, Slay the Spire 2 is the 20th most-played title on the platform. Its peak has out-beaten several other record-breaking titles, including Arc Raiders, as well as the aforementioned Resident Evil Requiem.
Valve's handheld is out of stock right now thanks to RAM and memory shortages.
