Publisher Nacon and developer Ace Team have revealed a release date for upcoming co-op horror adventure The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu, and the game is heading to PC and consoles this summer.
Per a press release, The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu will be arriving on July 15th. The two studios describe it as "a purely co-operative gameplay experience" in which Conquistador-era explorers "must survive horror and madness" on an expedition into the heart of a deep jungle.
The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu will support up to four players. At the outset, you and your co-op buddies will choose a contract to pursue, and you'll be able to gather treasure as you explore, but beware; the longer you stay, the more dangerous the island becomes.
Ace Team and Nacon say your inventory will be "limited" as you explore the island, and that your weaponry emphasizes defense and avoiding conflict rather than pursuing combat, so you'll have to be careful with which fights you prosecute.
Of course, this being a Lovecraftian game, you'll also have to contend with deteriorating sanity, which could make allies appear as enemies, show harmless ground as a deadly trap, or cause unexplained...
