Epic Games, A Company That Made $6 Billion Last Year, Is Raising The Price Of Fortnite V-Bucks To Help “Pay The Bills”

Epic Games just had a record-breaking year for revenue. The company has seen this figure jump every year since 2019, and the $6.01 billion it made in 2025 eclipsed 2024's $5.8 billion, according to data from Statista.

You'll have to pardon me then, when, even as a person who has never played Fortnite, I am frustrated that ickle Epic needs more of your hard-earned money to "pay the bills", so it's raising the cost of V-Bucks.

"The cost of running Fortnite has gone up a lot and we’re raising prices to help pay the bills," said Epic Games in a new Fortnite blog post.

Price increases are, of course, nothing new. We've seen regular increases in both Xbox and PlayStation consoles over the last few years. Last year, Nintendo was forced to hike up the prices of some of its Switch 2 accessories due to President Trump's tariffs. And the cost of purchasing games has steadily increased over time. These price increases are often attributed to "market conditions".
