SAG-AFTRA has issued a Do Not Work notice against Mega Man: Dual Override. This means that none of its members will be able to perform in or enter conversations about appearing in the game until this notice has been rescinded.
If this notice stays in place throughout development, then much of the cast of Mega Man 11 will be barred from reprising their roles. That includes Ben Diskin and Erica Lindbeck, who played Mega Man and Roll, respectively.
"Please be advised that the producer of the video game production entitled Mega Man: Dual Override has failed to initiate the signatory process," a statement on the SAG-AFTRA website reads. "As such, SAG-AFTRA members are hereby instructed to withhold any acting services or performance of any covered work for this production until further notice from the union.
"Please note, accepting employment or rendering services on Mega Man: Dual Override may be considered a violation of Global Rule One. Violating this order may result in disciplinary action in accordance with the SAG-AFTRA Constitution."
That means that, realistically, no SAG-AFTRA member will even be in talks for the game unless an agreement is reached. If they have already provided work...
