Matthias Linda, the solo developer behind the retro-style JRPG tribute Chained Echoes, has announced that he's filing a lawsuit against former physical release partner First Press Games over the latter's apparent inability to deliver physical copies of the game.
In an update on Chained Echoes' Kickstarter page, Linda says that physical copies of Chained Echoes were supposed to arrive courtesy of First Press Games "a bit over two years" ago, and "nothing has arrived except the regular PlayStation 4 edition" since then.
As a result, Linda says he's "terminating [his] business relationship" with First Press and that he's "preparing a lawsuit". He says he can't divulge any more information about the lawsuit for legal reasons, but that the decision to sue "wasn't easy and came after careful consideration".
In the Kickstarter update, Linda gives backers who plumped for a physical editions two options: they can either wait for a new edition to come from another publisher, or they can file for a refund.
If you backed a physical Chained Echoes edition and you want a refund, all you need to do is send an email to the address Linda provides in the update, complete with info like your name,...
