If you're still not sure what Crimson Desert is, don't worry, you're not alone. I recently flew to Amsterdam and played six hours of the game, and I left more confused about it than I was when I walked in. I rode a mech, and a dragon, picked up cats, put rats in my inventory, fought pirates, and a fish god, and at one point, a crow flew up and spoke to me.
As somebody hoping to go into the game with as little knowledge as possible, the inclusion of a mech blew my mind, but in a new trailer, developer Pearl Abyss revealed that you won't only be riding mechs and flying dragons, but you'll also have a nifty jetpack at your disposal.
Part of my dumbfoundment at Crimson Desert's futuristic elements was because I starved myself of checking out any of the game's marketing before my preview. I expected a grounded, medieval fantasy title with a bit of flair. What I got was a medieval title with cattle-prods, electromagnetic pulses, and mech suits. And now, apparently, a jetpack.
