Ex-Overwatch Director Reveals Western Survival Game The Legend of California | TechRaptor

Jeff Kaplan, the man behind hero shooter Overwatch, has announced The Legend of California, a Wild West-set survival shooter that's slated to enter Early Access sometime later this year.

According to the game's new official website (which also serves as the site for Kaplan's new studio Kintsugiyama), The Legend of California will allow you to "explore a vast, untamed frontier and forge your legacy" in "action-survival" gameplay with a tinge of first-person shooting.

The game, which will support both single-player and multiplayer, will feature exactly the kinds of things you've come to expect from games like this; you'll be able to hunt, gather resources, craft new items, and build your very own Wild West-era base. You'd better have a saloon in there or you won't attract no gunslingers, cowboy.

The Steam page for The Legend of California promises shooting that "rewards precision and skill", as well as "optional PvP" elements and "robust gathering and crafting systems". In short, it's another one of these games, but Kaplan's name could well give it some extra heft.
