1348 Ex Voto got a lot of attention before launch, and it's not hard to see why. A story of a woman saving another woman from peril (with some undeniably romantic undertones in the trailer) is like catnip to many of us. I certainly included myself in that. Throw in the fact that Jennifer English is in the game off the back of her award show success, and this AA release was able to amass an impressive following.
Now, a day after the game's launch, these would-be fans have had the chance to play it themselves. Unfortunately, from bugs, performance issues and just general gripes with the combat, many have been left disappointed by the release they had so much faith in.
Checking out the reception to 1348 Ex Voto on Steam, user reviews sit at mixed right now. It seems to come down to how much tolerance players have for a bit of jank with both the positive and negative reviews taking issue with the combat.
However, what is interesting to see is that those who picked it up for a game about a lesbian knight have found it to be lacking in that department.
