Sorry Talking Flower Fans, Super Mario Wonder's Switch 2 Upgrades Completely Replaces All Of The Original Voice Lines

A demo booth for Super Mario Bros. Wonder's Switch 2 upgrade has seemingly confirmed once and for all that the original Talking Flower voice lines have been completely replaced.

Although Super Mario Bros. Wonder gave us a far more interesting art style and gameplay mechanics than the New Super Mario Bros. games, it was still by and large what you'd expect from a modern Mario platformer. The only element of the game that was really divisive and pushed the envelope was one of its new characters, the Talking Flower.

Depending on who you ask, the Talking Flower is either the best bit of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, or its most annoying. I'm firmly in the Talking Flower defender camp, and that's largely in part due to Mick Wingert's casual but charming performance as the little freak. Wingert wasn't brought back for the role after Wonder, and now even his original recordings are being replaced.

Back when Mario Tennis Fever was revealed and the Talking Flower was confirmed to appear as an announcer, fans quickly noticed that his voice had changed considerably since his first appearance in Wonder. This was later proven to be true, as the credits revealed Patrick Seitz...
