Someone Is Making An Open-World Parkour Game That Looks So Close To Mirror's Edge That Some Are Worried About Legal Issues

If you were as disappointed with Mirror's Edge Catalyst as me, then Panline, an indie open-world parkour game that's clearly inspired by DICE's classic, might be worth keeping on your radar as long as EA don't step in.

As anyone waiting for a new Burnout, SSX, Fight Night, Def Jam, or Army of Two game knows, EA has a ton of dormant franchises under its belt that it just refuses to do anything with. Perhaps the most painful example of this is Mirror's Edge, which was an instant classic when it launched in 2008 and had people begging for a sequel for close to a decade.

To be fair to EA and Dice, they did actually try a Mirror's Edge sequel in 2016 with Catalyst, but it ended up falling flat after so much anticipation. With Catalyst underdelivering and Dice now stuck in Battlefield purgatory, it's pretty clear that we're never going to get a proper Mirror's Edge game again, but that doesn't seem like such a problem thanks to Panline.

As is often the case, leave it up to talented indie developers to give us what we're missing from triple-A games. Case in point, Panline, an open-world parkour...
