Frankly, I’m not sure how you would get through Resident Evil Requiem’s highest difficulty. Insanity, without infinite ammo. Between the one-shot kills, BSAA zombies using aimbot, and the awkward handgun placement at the bar, it always feels like there’s a Capcom employee giggling around the corner, waiting for you to fall face-first into a bear trap. But if that somehow isn’t enough for you, don’t worry, one modder has upped the ante.

Cue ‘Ironman Mode’, a work of pure sadism from silentverge. This is a new hardcore challenge in which death — or game over, so be careful covering Grace outside the church — means your save file gets deleted. You can play it on any difficulty type, including Insanity, so you can tailor the challenge to your preference, but silentverge knows exactly who this mod is for.

Hint: it’s not Resident Evil 2 director Hideki Kamiya, who was begging Capcom for a “non-scary” mode. But I’d still love to see him try this.
