Warner Bros Montreal, the studio behind games like Batman: Arkham Origins and Gotham Knights, appears to have been hit by layoffs, if a number of employees' social media accounts are anything to go by.
As reported by Eurogamer, several former WB Games Montreal staffers have revealed on LinkedIn that they're looking for work, and they're not limited to specific Warner Bros Montreal departments either, so the cuts appear to be sweeping, although the total number of affected employees isn't clear.
As Eurogamer points out, Warner Bros hasn't confirmed the layoffs, so it could just be that these particular employees have lost their jobs, but given the tidal wave of layoffs and studio closures that's currently sweeping the industry, it wouldn't surprise me if there are a lot of people suddenly without a job at WB.
It's fair to say that Warner Bros' gaming division hasn't exactly been having the best time of it, although exactly how much of that is down to unrealistic expectations remains a question for another day.
