Sony has revealed that a big PSSR upgrade targeting many major games on the PS5 Pro is launching today, so you can look forward to improved visuals in the likes of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Silent Hill f, and more.

As announced in a PlayStation Blog post, the PSSR upgrade, which will only be available on PS5 Pro (as is the feature itself), will deliver "enhanced image stability, improved clarity in fine details, and more consistent performance across supported titles".

Silent Hill f's production team says the upgrade allows them to render grass and shadows with "greater clarity", while BioWare's Maciej Kurowski says Dragon Age: The Veilguard has received a "meaningful improvement in image quality" when using PSSR on PS5 Pro.

A number of other publishers, including Remedy (Alan Wake 2, Control), Ninja Theory (Senua's Saga: Hellblade II), and Square Enix (Final Fantasy VII Rebirth) are taking advantage of the PSSR upgrade in their games, and more will apparently follow.

Despite CD Projekt Red previously saying it had no plans for a PS5 Pro patch for Cyberpunk 2077, that game is also getting a PSSR upgrade in the coming weeks, so that's a nice surprise.
