A Week After Making Lightning Less Frequent, Arc Raiders Is Asking Player To Get Struck By It

They say lightning doesn't strike the same place twice. While that's great news for someone who has almost been struck by lightning, or running across the map during one of Arc Raiders' electromagnetic storms, the latest round of Trials will have you hoping it does strike the same place twice.

The Arc Raiders community hasn't always gelled with its trials. Many of them require an element of luck, which isn't really in the hands of the player. One of the game's latest trials requires you to get struck by lightning. While you'd usually avoid lightning strikes, you're now incentivized to look for them. The problem is, Embark made them less frequent just last week.

In the March 10, 2026 patch notes, Embark said it "Fixed an issue where Electromagnetic Storm lightning would appear too frequently." I'm not really sure if lightning strikes were actually that common, but the update suspiciously came just before the trial to get struck by lightning. As you can imagine, it's really annoying to complete.
