After Shutting Down, Highguard Is Issuing Refunds On PlayStation

Highguard was, unfortunately, doomed from the start. The reception it received after Geoff Keighley revealed it as the final World Premiere of The Game Awards 2025 was anything but positive, especially because some people thought it would be a new Titanfall game or The Elder Scrolls 6. The following gameplay footage further disappointed fans, many of whom called it the next Concord.

And, much like Concord, Highguard eventually shut down in just a little under two months. A lot has been said by fans, other developers, and even the team behind the game, but it's all over now, and we can finally move on. However, those who played the game on PlayStation were met with a surprise as the money they spent on cosmetics or the battle pass has been refunded.

As spotted by Kotaku, players have reported receiving refunds by Sony for the money they spent on Highguard. Considering it was a free-to-play game, these refunds are likely for the money they spent on cosmetics or the game's battle pass. Sony doesn't hand out refunds lightly, but considering how long the game lasted, these refunds seem warranted.
