Aspyr Denies Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered Outfits Were Made With AI, Fans Remain Unconvinced

Last week, Aspyr dropped a surprise update for Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered, implementing a Challenge Mode, 15 new trophies, and 10 new outfits, and while that might sound good on the surface, the recent Steam reviews paint a different picture. At the time of writing, the trilogy holds a 'Mostly Negative' score, with players noting the string of new technical issues, while also criticizing the low-res and low quality "AI garbage" cosmetics.

However, in a new statement, Aspyr claimed that — while the new outfits might not look great — they were hand-crafted by human artists.

"We hear and appreciate your feedback regarding the recent Challenge Mode update for Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered," Aspyr said. "Our top priority is the delivery of a patch that will fix the texture issues and technical bugs. In addition, a series of updates are on the way to address a variety of technical issues across all platforms. This is also an opportunity to correct some mistaken information: the outfits in the update were created by our team of artists; no AI-generated assets were used in the update. We'll release more details on the patch content and timing as soon as possible."...
