Epic and Google Make Up, Opening New Path for Fortnite on Android

Today, Epic Games released Chapter 7 Season 2: Showdown for all Fortnite players. While that in itself is a big deal, perhaps what's even bigger for the vast majority of mobile players is the return of the hit free-to-play game on Android devices.

Yes, this means that players don't need to jump through hoops or run any third-party software in order to run Fortnite on Android, starting today!

It might not seem like it, but Fortnite was unavailable on Android devices for six years, since the game was removed from the Google Play Store in August 2020.

Fortnite Finally Returns to Android Starting March 19

Epic Games announced the return of Fortnite in a new post on the official Epic Games website. The mega-publisher said that with Fortnite's return to the Google Play Store, it now makes it easier to play with friends on any Android device.

Epic also reminded gamers that there are more than 345,000 games to play in Fortnite thanks to user-created experiences built with Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN). This runs the gamut from racing games, deathruns, horror experiences, and even tycoon games.
