As Xbox has abandoned console exclusivity, it has been putting games and series on its rival consoles that have never been playable on any other console before. That next game will be Starfield when it arrives on PS5 on April 7, 2026, and it's the latest example of an Xbox exclusive going multi-platform that proves leaving exclusivity behind was the right call.
Pre-orders for Starfield on PS5 opened alongside confirmation that it would be coming to the PlayStation platform earlier this week, and it has already ascended to the tippy top of the PlayStation pre-order chart. Even more impressive, the Starfield that's topping the chart right now is the more expensive premium edition, likely because it will include the newly revealed Terran Armada DLC.
It also includes last year's Shattered Space expansion, so you're getting everything that's been released so far.
It helps that the premium edition of Starfield costs the same as the standard edition did at launch - $69.99. Much like Avowed when it arrived on PS5 earlier this year, Xbox has dropped the price of Starfield to $49.99. That means its premium edition is $20 cheaper, too. Those permanent price drops also...
