Slay the Spire 2 is easily one of this year's biggest success stories, launching to a whopping peak player count of 574,638, easily surpassing recent releases like Marathon. Even at the time of writing, Slay the Spire 2 is the fourth most played game on Steam at the moment, and all of this is despite the game being in early access. Safe to say, the game is already an incredible success.
That being said, it seems as though developer MegaCrit has run into a bit of a problem recently regarding balance. Not only are some characters considered pretty overpowered, as determined by some long-time veterans of the series, but certain cards are also considered a bit too powerful, and MegaCrit was going to need to perform some careful balance tweaks to make things a little more fair.
Now that those balance tweaks are here, it's safe to say that everyone enjoying their busted builds right now are pretty fuming, as showcased by a brutal review bombing that took place earlier today.
