The same day as Assassin's Creed Shadows' one-year anniversary, Ubisoft has finally revealed the historical setting and officially confirmed the full cast of Netflix's upcoming Assassin's Creed show.
Netflix and Ubisoft have been collaborating to produce new AC content since as far back as 2016, but development on a live-action AC series didn't officially begin until 2020 alongside an animated and an anime AC series.
While details on the animated AC series are still unknown, Ubisoft and Netflix have begun slowly releasing news and casting information about the live-action series for several months.
Rumors and anonymous sources have previously suggested that the show would at least partially take place during 54 C.E. Ancient Rome, and now it seems those sources were correct in part as Ubisoft and Netflix have revealed that the upcoming show will take place during 64 C.E. Ancient Rome.
The Setting of Netflix's Assassin's Creed
According to Tudum, Netflix's official news site, Netflix's Assassin's Creed series will take place during 64 C.E. Ancient Rome and has officially begun production at Cinecitta Studios in Rome, Italy.
