Code Veronica Remake Will Reportedly Be "Heavily Remixed," With New Final Boss For Chris

Reputable leaker Dusk Golem — who first reported that Leon Kennedy would be a playable character in Resident Evil Requiem — has revealed new details on the rumored Code Veronica remake that he claims will launch next year.

Capcom is reportedly treating the Code Veronica remake as a big-budget "mainline game."

In a thread posted to X earlier today, he claimed that nothing will be cut from the remake, but it will be a "heavily remixed" version of the original game. "I hear it's the remake with the most things changed or happening differently than you may remember," he said. "But every enemy, location, major event, is there & much even expanded."

According to Dusk Golem, the Code Veronica remake will center on Claire Redfield, solidifying her as the main character "even more so than the original." To that end, the Chris portion of the game will reportedly end earlier than in the original, shifting the focus back to Claire for the finale.

Claire got equal attention in RE:2 Remake, & in the upcoming Code Veronica Remake they very squarely make Claire the main character.
