In case you missed it, Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness is finally available on Nintendo Switch 2 via its Nintendo Classics program. The GameCube title is now available for all with a subscription to enjoy, though unfortunately, unlike the FireRed and LeafGreen re-releases, it's not a standalone purchase and there's no Pokemon Home compatibility.
Still, a win is a win, especially considering how much copies second-hand for Gale of Darkness now run.
The weird GameCube Pokemon RPG remains special 20 years later.
Now that the game is officially out, all anyone can think of is getting a shiny Eevee. Except, it isn't as easy as it sounds, at least compared to how accessible shiny hunting is in the newer titles.
Like FireRed and LeafGreen, there's a ton of soft resetting required, meaning you have to reset your game from the beginning, hoping that shiny Eevee is finally in your inventory. If not, it's rinse and repeat until then.
Up and down the XD Gale of Darkness sub, people are sharing their shiny journeys, with some detailing just how many repeats it's taken. One user spent the entirety of their day before their shiny dreams came true. That seems...
