The future of Resident Evil remakes has yet to be officially revealed, but leaks have filled in a lot of the gaps. At this point, it seems fairly certain that a remake of Code Veronica is up next, followed by new takes on Resident Evil 0 and 1. There's no way to know for sure if these projects will live up to the standard set by the Resident Evil 2 and 4 remakes yet, but one piece of information is a very good sign.
This week, Resident Evil leaker Dusk Golem reiterated on X that the "Code Veronica Remake is being directed by Kazunori Kadoi & Yasuhiro Anpo," the directors of the remakes for Resident Evil 2 and 4. According to Dusk Golem's info, the game will also be produced by Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, likewise a veteran of those remakes.
Unsurprisingly, many fans are happy to hear that this successful team is returning. X user 56er suggests that the Code Veronica remake "will be an absolutely fantastic game from start to finish" in these hands, comparing their work to a perceived drop-off in quality after RE7 and RE9's first major areas.
